THE FENICÉ TRIO
This piano trio was formed in 1998 in order to give something back to the Teesside region, where all its members grew up. Middlesborough is their base but they have also travelled to Ireland, Russia and Switzerland, as well as recording their first CD. The highlight of their concert in Dolgellau will be Dvorák’s “Dumky’ Trio, in the centenary year of that composer’s death.

ADRIAN WILSON (oboe), IAIN FARRINGTON (piano)
Ten years have gone by since Althea Ifeka’s memorable recital on the same instrument (a concert sponsored, like this one, by the Countess of Munster Musical Trust). This recital should match it: Adrian Wilson has a wide and colourful repertoire, underpinned by his extensive experience under conductors such as Claudio Abbado, and as a finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year Competition in 1998.
